  • Experience deepening connection with the Earth, yourself and the group

  • Find present moment awareness and attune to what's here and now.

  • Get curious, creative, explore and play

  • Reflect, relax and feel a sense of peace or calm

  • Share your experiences with the group if you wish

  • Keep warm with the delicious herbal tea offered to you

  • Take techniques away with you to practice on your own in Nature

Whether you spend time outdoors often or not at all, this is for you! Come with an open mind and a willingness to go on this personal journey, filled with surprise, awe and beauty.

Benefits of Forest Bathing

Forest Bathing, known as Shinrin-yoku in Japanese, is a total immersion in the forest, an opportunity to relax, de-stress and be held by the forest.

Shinrin-yoku walks were developed in Japan in the 1980's as a response to major health and stress problems within the urban population. It's important to acknowledge the roots of this practice are far more ancient. Currently in Japan and Korea, Forest Bathing is part of their National Health Plan and offered as a prescribed treatment.

There are numerous scientifically researched physiological and psychological benefits of Shinrin-yoku, such as regulating the nervous system, lowered stress hormones and reduction of high blood pressure and heart rate, to name a few.

Leading expert Professor Yoshifumi Miyazaki writes in his book, Walking in the Woods, “for 99.9% of human evolution we've been living in a natural environment and forest bathing brings us closer to that natural state. Forest bathing gives us the chance to unplug from the constant stimulation of our modern lives.” We come home!

Why Forest Bathing is Important

In the modern world we live in, many of us are disconnected from our Wild Selves and from the more-than-human world. Through Forest Bathing, we can reconnect with the rest of Nature and strengthen our interdependent relationship with our beautiful planet.

Engaging in sensory immersion, play, curiosity and mindfulness, we can find a sense of belonging on this Earth, releasing the Wild One in us, who is deeply rooted in the soil.

By quietly listening to the forest, we get to know the beings we live alongside and find more presence with ourselves and the rest of the world.

Forest bathing what does it mean,
For me it slowed me down ,
It gave me the opportunity to change my frown ,
The gentle guiding voice of Emma enables peace ,
Worries and anxieties decrease,
Nature is fed into the soul,
You look into yourself and find your inner goal,
You need to take the journey at your own pace,
And enjoy the pure magic of the woodland space"
